Up until now to play the game you would need to open up the settings, look up the controls, and then try to remember them while exploring.
The survival game mode should eventually have some form of a narrative tutorial intro that teaches basics. In the meantime I’ve worked out a guide and prompt tutor system to try out.
The smart prompt system monitors nearby interactions in the world and prompts the player. This covers picking up items, opening menus, and entering vehicles. The smarts to it track the quantity and frequency of how often you’ve done an action and taper off the prompt as you demonstrate proficiency.
The guide portion monitors player activity to show control guides and offer tips like how to enable a cheat for using ammo, or how to fuel a jetpack.
