The heart of Starlab is its physics sandbox, it's where the magic that I hope will resonate with players can be found. To this end I want there to be as many places to play with the physics as possible. I saw there was some low hanging fruit because the player already can hand carry a massive gatling gun. Shouldn't firing such a powerful weapon throw the player around especially when firing it on a low gravity moon?

So I took what I learned when I added Jetpacks and extended the concept of being able to remove platformer controls to have the player free fall with momentum.

With this new version of free falling it was easy to fix a long standing issue I've had with the game. Up until now when a player exited a vehicle they become bound by platformer controls and would fall straight down while their vehicle zoomed away from them.

All it took was a quick tweak and now free fall engages when exiting a vehicle opening up a whole new way to play when flying around.

I've been having a lot of fun with physics again after this work. Hope you enjoy it too!
